Johanna W. Hernandez is the General Manager of Cargill Fort Morgan Beef in Fort Morgan, Colorado, bringing more than 27 years of experience in the meat industry to her leadership role. Her career journey is a reflection of perseverance, purpose, and a strong belief in people-first leadership.
Hernandez began her career in Human Resources, where she built a solid foundation in supporting people and organizations. It was there that she discovered her passion for operations and the dynamic, fast-paced challenges of manufacturing environments. Guided by strong mentors and fueled by her own drive for growth, she advanced through a range of leadership roles over the course of her career. In July 2023, she assumed the role of General Manager at Cargill Fort Morgan Beef, where she leads with empathy, empowerment, and a clear commitment to excellence.
Throughout her career, Hernandez has viewed work-life balance as an ongoing journey rather than a fixed goal. She emphasizes the importance of integration through communication, prioritization, and the support of family and colleagues. She believes women can thrive in any industry by stepping beyond their comfort zones, investing in personal growth, and intentionally uplifting others along the way.

Hernandez earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac. She has spent her entire professional career with Cargill, serving in various leadership roles from 1997 to 2023. Today, as General Manager of Cargill Fort Morgan Beef, her functional focus remains on operations and leadership, guided by experience, purpose, and a people-centered approach.
