At just 29, Pranita Patil is emerging as a leading voice in food safety and a rising influence in the meat industry. In her role as Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager at FPL Food LLC, she oversees food safety across harvest and fabrication operations, ensuring USDA-FSIS compliance while fostering a culture of safety and quality throughout the facility. Her work ensures that operations run smoothly, efficiently and in full alignment with regulatory standards.
With a strong foundation in veterinary science and poultry science, Patil was drawn to the fast-paced and complex world of meat processing. She manages HACCP programs, conducts internal audits, oversees shelf-life studies and investigates quality issues, all while leading corrective actions to maintain safe, efficient operations. Her technical expertise and strong attention to detail allow her to handle the challenges of regulatory compliance with confidence.
Patil credits strong mentors and the Women’s Meat Industry Network (WMIN) for helping her build confidence and navigate the unique challenges of a male-dominated industry. A notable highlight in her career came when she successfully led her facility through a BRC audit while launching a food safety culture program, an achievement that underscored her commitment to teamwork, proactive compliance, and operational excellence.
Patil is deeply committed to supporting other women in the meat industry. She encourages them to seek mentorship, develop strong networks and embrace leadership opportunities with confidence. For her, WMIN is more than a professional association; it’s a vibrant community where women can find belonging, amplify their voices, and rely on a strong network of support.
